Business-End of the TWA Moonliner

TWA Moonliner Disneyland, originally uploaded by flimflam1500.

The TWA Moonliner at Disneyland, or rather the business end of this rocket mock-up. It looks like the designers based their dummy engine on the V-2's with the steerable direction vanes jutting directly into the rocket exhaust.

=) Did you ever ride on it?

Went to Disneyland quite a few times as a kid but somehow never rode on that ride. =(

Naaaah, my family never made trips that far from home... I was a deprived child LoL

And I think the Moonliner came and went before my time. Wikipedia says it served as an attraction only from 1955-1962 :/

D'oh, now that I see the full photo on your latest post, it was juuust before my time as well. =)

Thought it was the one that came after this one. =)

As for deprived, Mom always had Dad take us somewhere on our birthdays. Dad got motion sickness just driving a car, so I was lucky to ride the Monorail and People Mover ha ha ha. But that Ride Through Inner Space was awesome! =D
